Adrian is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Psychometrician, and Operational Leader with over 14 years of experience helping organisations develop and deliver high-quality assessments both locally and internationally. He brings a wealth of experience and innovative solutions regarding Diversity and Inclusion.
He previously served as a Deputy Director or Assessment Services at SSCL, a joint venture between France’s Sopra Steria and the UK Government. In this role he led a team of over 80 staff across four sites to deliver scientifically fair and defensible assessment centres to over 25,000 candidates each year for the Metropolitan Police Service, Ministry of Justice and Department for Work and Pension.
Adrian’s earlier roles include a blend of academic, operational leadership, and consultancy work. For example, he served as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Selection and Assessment at the Universities of Dundee and Buckingham respectively where he oversaw the scientific defensibility and administration of assessments for thousands of healthcare professionals. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the University Clinical Aptitude Test, in addition to delivering consultancy projects with organisations such as The World Bank, Work Psychology Group, Royal College of Psychiatrists, ASK Europe, University of Glasgow and the National University Singapore.
Adrian is especially passionate about helping companies implement a joined-up approach to recruiting and retaining talent. This includes using scientifically reliable and valid assessments to recruit the best staff, in addition to implementing positive HR policies and procedures to develop and retain them. A key aspect of his strategy is focusing on Diversity and Inclusion across the recruitment lifecycle, where he uses subject matter expertise and personal experience as a Person of Colour to help organisations excavate the roots of sub-optimal practices, and implement authentic and transformative solutions.
